Our values
Integrity, continuous improvement, affordability
BSI has over 100 years of experience in the development of standards and helps experts achieve consensus in the standardization process. We make sure that standardization committees are representative and accessible, and that their activities are comprehensive, rigorous and transparent. We strive to ensure a balance between market needs, user requirements and government policy. Our team consists of people whose organizations use our standards and have supported us in shaping the model of our operation since 1901.
BSI gave rise to the majority of the most commonly used international standards today, such as ISO 9001 (quality management) or ISO / IEC 27001 (information security management). The most important new standards in the field of Anti-Corruption Activities, Business Continuity, Energy Management and Mutual Business Management are the latest examples of the effects of our close cooperation with representatives of industries and governmental bodies, bringing solutions to many important global social and economic problems. BSI is also the creator and owner of Kitemark® - the first product quality mark. This is one of the most known and respected quality marks in the world. Kitemark® diagrams are voluntary and show commitment to quality. BSI can also assist in obtaining compliance in order to place the CE marking on the product.
Our accreditations
Our global accreditation body is ANAB (ANSI-National Accreditation Board), which monitors BSI compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 17021 standards. We are also audited by the UKAS British Accreditation Body for compliance with the requirements of ISO 17021, 17025 and BS EN 45011, so we can offer accredited product and process certificates to organizations.
