Thermovision, otherwise known as thermography, is a field of science dealing with the recording and processing and imaging of infrared radiation invisible to the naked eye. Its source is all objects whose temperature is higher than absolute zero.

The effect of the thermovision test, performed with a special camera, is a thermogram, or color visualization of radiation, taking into account the temperature distribution of the surface to be tested.

A change in temperature may indicate malfunctions.
