We are one of the largest and oldest tanneries in Poland, boasting over 150 years of history and tradition in tanning leather. The basis of production are calf, pig and cow skins for the footwear industry.

Our tannery was founded in 1859 by Dawid Spitzer from the Czech Republic. Initially, it was a workshop where various types of raw leather were used for footwear and furniture. Over the years it has been transformed into a tannery. Around 1928, the company "Spitzer-Sinajberger" was created, which resulted in the further development of the tannery.

Rebuilt after the war, the tannery was incorporated into the PZPS Chełmek combine. Regained independence in 1989 and 1996 debuted on the stock exchange. In 2001, it goes into private hands. In 2005, the tannery is separated from Skotanu SA and begins its independent activity as Tannery Skotan sp. Z oo
