About us

This text has been translated automatically

The company FHPU EWMET started its activities at the beginning of 2000 in the commune of Wolbrom. The first plant was located in Wierzchowisko. The main task at that time was to service enterprises producing waste - resulting from manufacturing and supply activities.

Initially, our activity focused on the collection and sorting of waste such as: waste paper, foil, plastics, or scrap. It was therefore an activity typical of sorting of secondary raw materials. Waste that went to the company was sorted by generic sorting through baling, packaging or otherwise. Then we delivered them to recycling and recovery companies based on permanent cooperation agreements.

In order to maintain our position on the market - our company was forced to collect from the factories with which it cooperated, strictly post-production waste - such as polyurethane foam and rubber. Initially, this waste was only stored by us. After some time, the recipients were found. These were companies involved in the production of alternative fuels. However, it was not profitable for us in financial terms. The cost of transporting, storing and delivering rubber waste to a fuel production plant distant by 50 km exceeded the amount obtained for the raw material to a large extent.

At the end of 2005, the idea of producing rubber granules from rubber waste was born. At that time, it was a subject fledgling on the Polish market. We have built the first cutting mill by trial and error. The production of granules slowly started, but it was a small-scale undertaking - without establishing the market, marketing and organized sales. The main advantage of such a solution is the multiple reduction of the storage space needed to store rubber waste. Initially, we had problems finding recipients for this product. After some time - in 2006 - a large production company from Katowice, which was involved in the production of rubber products with a polyurethane binder (mats, cubes, damping surfaces), bought all stored rubber granulate and offered constant acceptance of this product.

Quite a large financial injection allowed for more serious dealing with this topic. In mid-2006, we purchased 2 new knife mills (made in China) and we made a dust removal and screening installation for the fraction desired by the recipient, ie 1.0 - 2.5 mm. At that time, the most important form of our activity was the sorting of secondary raw materials. This activity allowed the entire company to be maintained. Additional revenues from the sale of granules were invested in the development of the company.

Since mid-2007, there has been a "boom" in Poland for artificial sports surfaces. The basic building material for synthetic sports surfaces - such as football pitches, tennis courts, tartan treadmills, artificial grass - has become rubber granules. Seeing the opportunity to enter the niche market, we decided to focus our activities on the production of rubber granulates. We have gradually resigned from sorting operations. However, we left the most profitable parts, such as: buying and baling the film, sorting plastic PA and PET (in the form of yarn) and steel scrap. We selected several suppliers where the margin and profit were large enough. The main role in this selection was played by logistic issues, mainly the possibility of using specialized vehicles and loading into industrial containers. As a result of changes taking place on the market, the company has changed its location since 2008. Production from that moment was carried out in the town of Olkusz in Trans Bud-Olkusz (typically industrial area).

In 2009, we moved the company to a newly purchased plant in Szyce (Pilica commune, Zawiercie poviat), focusing only on the production of rubber granulate and the sale of unvulcanized rubber. Analyzing the market and reviewing government tenders for the years 2009-2014, we decided to expand our business.

Since 2010, Ewmet has extended its activity to the production of safe surfaces for the government project "RADOSNA SZKOŁA". Using many years of experience gained in the production of rubber granules, we have begun manufacturing EPDM / SBR boards, which until today are used as safe surfaces for playgrounds to absorb the fall. Going in this direction in a short time, ie in January 2011, we successfully implemented additional products based on SBR rubber granulate, such as: multicolored elastic edging (curbs), multicolored rubber tiles (safe surface), breeding mats and vibroinsulating boards. Our products have very good opinions among our customers - as to the diligence and timely performance, aesthetics, structural strength, repeatability of color and dimensional stability. In the place of the new location, completely new devices and machines for the production of rubber granules and safe surfaces were used. Increased production and rapid development resulted in the necessity to introduce a higher level of work organization and logistics, especially supply.

After the three-year period of producing boards for playgrounds, we decided to introduce a new product to the market. At the beginning of 2013, the idea of producing flexible surfaces for various types of gyms was created. The first large implementation - the use of our floor under the equipment of a powerful fitness company at the FITEXPO fair in Poznan - resulted in a great interest in the new product. Very soon it turned out that we shot into the niche market and we became at the same time an alternative to expensive counterparts from Western Europe and Chinese floors, which are characterized by poor quality - and thus durability. The subsequent months of promoting our products, both "older" and newly implemented gym floors, have allowed to establish many interesting contacts in Poland and abroad. The main advantages of the new product - as in the case of previous products - is the high precision of the workmanship, the quality of the components used, the variety of floor types and full repeatability.

After this unquestionable success, our company did not rest on its laurels and planned to implement further projects. At the same time as the promotion of our floors, we have started to market flexible plates, the so-called "Bumperów", intended for different types of gyms - from home, through standard / commercial, as well as becoming more and more popular functional training - crossfity. The interest in the new product exceeded our expectations, mainly due to its innovativeness and strengths such as: lack of metal components (we are the only company in the world that produces plates in this way), 100% recycling, sound absorption, no typical rubber aroma and very large strength. Success in the next project - enjoying great interest - fills us with pride and mobilizes us to take on new challenges.
