Microsphere - these are the grains of the slag formed during combustion of coal dust in large furnaces, most often in power plants. During the combustion of coal on the edge of the high temperature zone, the plastic path forms in the vicinity of gases granules (bubbles) with a diameter of 0 - 0.5mm containing gas in its interior. Granules (microspheres) transported together with the route to the settling pond, flow to the surface of the water. The microspheres drawn from water are directed to the drip chamber made of canvas cloth, thus losing excess water. After sufficiently long aging, when the water content drops to approx. 20%, the microspheres are packed into polypropylene bags and sold in this form for further processing.

- good thermal and acoustic insulation;
- low specific weight.

Applications of microspheres

* energy and technology: caves of oil wells, drilling muds, industrial coatings, grinding materials, shells and composites of spacecrafts, explosives, propeller arms

* construction: Aluminum panels for high-rise buildings, special cements, masonry mortars, plasters, roofing materials, soundproofing panels, coatings, sprayed concrete

* plastics: BMC and SMC molding compounds, injection molding, modeling, extrusion, PVC floors, thin coatings, nylon, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, polypropylene

* ceramics: refractory materials, slips, roof tiles, fireproof bricks, aluminum cement, insulating materials, coatings.
