The Łódzki Training and Consultation Center of the ŁOŚ was established to continue training which, as the first in Poland, began to be conducted in the mid-nineties.

Our goals, however, are much wider: it is the pursuit of the highest possible quality of radiology in Poland. We are practitioners with several decades of experience. The founders of ŁOSIA are at the same time the founders of the Section of Clinical Engineering of the Polish Medical Radiological Society, dealing with the technical aspect of radiology. This section was created in 1995 during the XXXIV PLTR Congress held in Łódź.

Proper cooperation between a radiologist, technician and physicist or engineer is a skillful combination of the latest diagnostic technique with the correct quality of images obtained with the desired amount of clinical information, with a reasonably low dose of radiation and adequate patient's comfort. This sentence contains the whole sense of what we colloquially call "quality assurance in radiology". It is nothing but proper arrangement and optimization of the handling of documentation and equipment, supervision of the patient and constant analysis of the causes of all those events that do not meet our expectations. It is work on efficient, properly adjusted equipment and the use of appropriate, tested, repeatable and recognized medical procedures.

Assistance in the implementation and implementation of the quality assurance system is provided by the entire activity of our Center, from training and courses, through testing and assembly of control and measurement equipment to multi-profile consultations in the selection of equipment for clinical needs, the application of appropriate procedures and legal regulations in the daily routine assistance in creating tender requirements for radiological equipment.

We are members of Scientific Societies (Polish Medical Radiological Society, Society of Medical Physics, American Assotiation Physicist in Medicine, European Society of Radiology), we participate in the work of the Committee of Medical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, National Surveillance Team in the field of Radiology, Advisory Team at the Chief Sanitary Inspector or the Commission on External Clinical Procedures and Aditives, we participate in legislative work on the use of ionizing radiation for medical purposes.

We cooperate and are lecturers of universities: the Medical Center for Postgraduate Education and the Technical University of Lodz, whose students form under our supervision engineering and master's theses ...
