The Elanstil company was established in 1991 as a representative of Zakłady Włókien Chemicznych Stilon in Gorzów Wielkopolski, which at the end of the nineties was taken over by the French concern Rhodia - a global leader in the production of polyamide engineering plastics. In September 2012, Rhodia Engineering Plastic became part of the Belgian Solvay group, and thus Elanstil became its official distributor in Poland.
