Charlie Cinema - "Łódź Filmowa" Association

In 2014, the Charlie cinema celebrates its 20th anniversary. During two decades of our activity, it has become a cult place and an example of the functioning of arthouse cinema. Charlie cinema belongs to the group of members of Europa Cinemas and the Network of Studio and Digital Cinemas. It was also honored with the Award of the Polish Film Institute for the best cinema in Poland and the "Golden Ticket" for "outstanding services in the dissemination of Polish films". Since 2002, we have been awarding our own prize to the creators of independent and outstanding personalities of the world of art and culture - the Golden Globe. Among the laureates and guests of the Charlie cinema, there were, among others: Jerry Schatzberg, Andrei Konchalovsky, Agnieszka Holland, Petr Zelenka and John Malkovich. Since 2000, the "Łódź Filmowa" Association has been operating at the Charlie cinema, which supports film projects that build the Lodz film brand and cares for the cultural development of the city and the region. Together with "Film Boat", Charlie organizes one of the largest and oldest film festivals in Łódź, the Cinergia European Cinema Forum, and as part of the Year of Tuwim celebrated the famous Crocheted Art-Locomotive, which stood on the Market Square in Manufaktura. In February this year, Charlie cinema was recognized as the Cinema of the Month of the international cinema network of Europa Cinemas.
